LETS TALK ABOUT ORS
Oral rehydration Salt therapy
ORS is a type of fluid replacement used to prevent and treat dehydration, especially that due to diarrhea.
the World Health Organization (WHO) recommended that an ORS formulation with total osmolarity 311 mmol/l be used for prevention and treatment of diarrhoeal dehydration.
However, alternative formulations continued to be investigated in an attempt to develop an ORS formulation that would decrease stool output or have other clinical benefits. These efforts led, in 2004, WHO to recommend low osmolarity ORS (with total osmolarity of 245 mmol/l and reduced levels of glucose and sodium), which was associated with reduced need for unscheduled IV therapy, decreased stool output and less vomiting.
ORS involves drinking water with modest amounts of sugar and salts, specifically sodium and potassium.
ORS aids in cleansing the intestines, it flushes out impurities and bacterias in the system, which will be passed out as a urine!!!
You can use ORS as it is approved by the World Health Organization (WHO).
You can easily buy from any health store.
You can also make ORS at home.
1. Mix 2 small spoon of salt and 6 small spoons of sugar in 3 Glass cups of clean drinking water.
2. Drink this homemade ORS several times a day, to flush your system!!!
You can also add one full lemon or lime juice to the mixture, above this is because in other to keep your stomach free from bacteria, and parasites such as thypoid, you have to keep your stomach acidic, bacteria doesn’t survive in an acidic environment.
Enjoy a healthy life!!!
